DIVISIONS:
Your division is based on your age as of January 1st, 2012!
Baby Miss (Ages 0-23 months)
Tiny Miss (Ages 2-4 years)
Little Miss (Ages 5-7)
Petite Miss (Ages 8-10)
Junior Miss (Ages 11-13)
Teen Miss (Ages 14-16)
Miss (Ages 17-23)
Ms (ages 24 and up)
AREAS OF COMPETITION:
REQUIRED:
Self Introduction - Little Miss - Ms. Divisions will do a self introduction (must be under 1 minute). Attire for this self introduction is Black Skirt or Capris and Miss Heart of the USA Official State Pageant Tee Shirt and with their crown and sash. Introduction should include: Name, Title and something that you have enjoyed or learned during your MHOA reign, your favorite Community Serivice project, etc.
Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Divisions will not do a self introduction instead they will compete in their Miss Heart of the USA Tee Shirts an a Black Skirt or Capris and be introduced by our emcee.
Formalwear - Baby Miss and Tiny Miss Divisions can wear Pageant Dress or Sunday Best. Little Miss - Ms. Divisions will need a pageant dress. Contestants will be judged on personality, fit and style of garment (overall appearance) and poise & smile (stage presence).
OPTIONALS:
Included in your City/County Queen prize package is one Photogenic (1 picture) free and your Community Service Scrapbook free!
You may enter as many optionals as you like , there is a small fee ($45 in advance $55 on site) for each addtional optional. You may enter as many photos are you like, the first one is free, additional photos will be $20 in advance $25 on site.
Photogenic - Photos can be of any size and do not have to be professionally done. They can be a head-shot or full body shot. Photos are scored on personality projection, clarity and overall photogenic qualities. Photos need to be turned into the Registration Desk as soon as you arrive at State. You may enter unlimited photos--the first one is free. The one photo with the highest score will be used towards your photogenic score. All photos submitted must have the contestants name and age division on the back. Photos that do not have proper labeling on the back will not be judged. All photos must be picked up immediately following the competition at the Registration Desk.
Heart Theme - This area of competition is a chance for you to show us your sense of style. Get creative with your outfit! This outfit can be custom made or "off the rack". Model like you are in a fashion show. You will be judged on overall appearance, stage presence, and personality.
Community Service- All Queens in the Miss Heart Of the USA Pageant Program you are encouraged to be involved in your community. This can be by volunteering at a local children's hospital, riding in a parade, making an appearance at a local fair/festival or getting involved with a local charity. . .the opportunities are endless. To compete in this optional category you must submit all events to be judged in scrapbook format. This is a separate from the tracking sheets you turn in to vie for the "Community Queen" title.
Essay- A one page essay entitled: "What Community Service means to me!"
OPTIONAL PRIZES!: Each Optional Category will have a Divisional Winners! Divisional Winners will receive a beautiful Miss Heart of the USA Trophy declaring her the Divisional Winner of that Optional (Heart Themed, Photogenic, Community Service, or Essay).
SCORING:
Your total score is compiled of your scores in Self Introduction, Formal Wear, your one highest score in the Optional Categories --One Photogenic entry (1 photo) is included in your overall entry fee along with your Community Service Scrapbook. You may elect to compete in all the optionals (there will be an additional charge of $45 for each additional optional). However, remember only the highest optional score will be used. (In the case of a tie...we move to the next optional score..so if is advisable to enter as many optionals as possible)

Our Supreme Beauty will receive a Miss Heart of the USA State Sash, beautiful State Rhinestone Crown, Rhinestone Sash Pin, A Pampering Prize Package and their $495 entry fee paid to the Miss Heart of the USA National Pageant in Orlando, Florida ....where they will compete for $5,000!

OUR MOST PRESTIGIOUS "SPECIAL" TITLES
Every County/City Queen has the opportunity to vie for all of these special titles.
There is no extra charge to participate and all Queens are encouraged to do so. We recommend registering as soon as possible, so you have as plenty of time to vie for these "Special Titles"! You may start working on your "Special Title" points as soon as you have your official title. (Don't forget to submit your Tracking Sheets.)
Queen of Hearts : All of our pageants are food drives. Contestants competing are required to turn in 25 canned food items the day of the pageant. Contestant are encouraged to work with their communities to collect additional canned food items above and beyond their required 25. The contestant that turns in the most canned food items during her reign will be crowned our Queen of Hearts.

Community Queen: As a County Queen with the Miss Heart of the USA pageant, you are encouraged to participate in community service activities. In your queens kit you will receive tracking forms to be submitted monthly. The more activities you participate in, the more points you earn. The contestant with the most "Community Points" is awarded this title!

Ambassador: Our "Ambassador" title goes to the contestant who collects the most "Ambassador Points". By sharing information about the Miss Heart of the USA Pageant Program, our Ambassadors help to promote collection of additional canned food items. Contestants receive points for referring other contestants to our programs, placing posters in local businesses and posting our pageant information on local websites, etc.

Scholarship Queen : Our "Scholarship Queen " title goes to the contestant who collects the most $5 Scholarlship Donations along with helping to obain Business "Scholarship Sponsors". Scholarship Tickets (1 point per ticket) plus any points earn for helping to obtain Scholarship Business Sponsors (1 point per $5 in donations).
